The owners keep flagging this review as off-topic, offensive, obscene or profane, or hate speech!!

DID NOT SHOW UP FOR CHECK-IN. We booked through Booking.com. On the check-in day, the 'owners' texted us that the booking is cancelled!! When we called them, to ask what the text meant and to tell them we were already in Belgium and would check-in later in the day, they told us: "oh OK no worries, we thought you are not going to show up! But now that you called it's OK, the booking is not cancelled."

Later in the afternoon, once we arrived at the property, there was NO ONE TO LET US IN, nor any keys or code was left for us. We called the owners that they DID NOT PICK UP.

Once we informed Booking.com, they told us their policy is to wait for 45 mins to give the owners the benefit of the doubt. We explained that the owners were preemptively cancelling the booking and it seemed the place was empty (not other guests) and so the owners seemed to be hoping to want to get rid of us (to not stay around for the weekend for just one room). Eventually Booking.com reached them (they continued to not answer our calls) and the owners told them that they thought we were scammers or something!!!!!!!

Eventually, we had to find another place with the help of Booking.com.
