On the day of my booking, Airbnb was experiencing continuous login issues, especially with telephone number login (new accounts never get a code), and since a friend asked me for help, I booked the accommodation using my account. Unfortunately, this experience turned out to be extremely unpleasant due to the lack of professionalism and respect from the hostel host.
If you allow check-ins until a certain time but are not present at that time, it's not the client's problem but your failure in customer service and communication. The host also complained about the last-minute booking, this is entirely unclear. The requirements state that bookings can be made up to 2 hours before check-in ends, and I made the reservation nearly 4 hours before the cutoff time. Additionally, the host's continuous messages with personal photos from a bar with food were completely irrelevant and unprofessional.
The host went to watch football at 20:10 instead of helping to find an entrance and check in, and started sending pictures of food from the bar and the match. This behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, leaving a very negative impression of both the host and the accommodation. I strongly advise against booking here.

It was nice, in a good position. I was alone and I had a double room at the third floor (no lift) and it was clean. I had some problems for entering in the building (a code is needed). The room was really big, with two windows,a couch, an old wardrobe and a television. The bed was quite old but fine. The plugs were old and sometimes they were out of the walls but it is fine. The bathroom was small, but all the accessories are present. I really did not understand the breakfast. I only took 1 piece of bread. Maybe all in the fridge was available : some instructions are needed since I thought they were private properties and not available for guests. I think it was my problem. The reception is not present and it is difficult sometime to get in touch with the responsible. Cost of the wifi : 4 euros per night. Anyway it was nice.

We were a group of 12 male cyclists. The Huize Rafael suited us perfectly. Given the configuration of the rooms we were able to allocate rooms without problems to singles and guys who were prepared to share. Most of our cycles were stored at the house the others at the two garages provided. The breakfast arrangements - self service - worked without any problems and the food provided was more than adequate. The bar below the house was great. Quiet and great for a coffee in the morning and a beer in the evening. We also ate there and enjoyed the food and the gregarious host. In summary, a great place for a group in the great city of Leuven.

Let's get this said about the outset: I absolutely loved Leuven. It's got character, tasty food, plentiful shopping, and an atmosphere of accessibility. I came to Belgium to visit Brussels. I liked Leuven better.||||The Huize Rafael is a nice, albeit quirky, place to stay, and I'd go back again. Details:||||-- The price: No complaints. Booked on Booking.com — my first time using them. Charges came through on my card as expected.||||-- The room: We stayed in a triple room (no doubles were available). The room was charming and spacious — two single beds pushed together on the main floor and a double bed in a loft area. Our room faced the street, but noise wasn't a problem on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we stayed there. ||||-- The bed: The beds and pillows are flat, but still reasonably comfortable. We both slept without trouble.||||-- The bathroom: Small, but adequate. Towels and toiletries are provided. Note that not all rooms have an en suite bathroom, so read the room descriptions as you book.||||-- The breakfast: Like frantz87 below, we didn't really do the breakfast either — and we also had a bit of trouble figuring the refrigerator system out. A little labeling there would go a long way. However, there's this: next to the fridges is a series of cubbies that holds all sorts of grab-and-go snacks that we helped ourselves to. Which is a nice little perk.||||-- Temperature: Comfortable. The rooms have radiator heaters, which I turned on during the cold snap we experienced. I can't speak to the air conditioning situation.||||-- Connectivity: WiFi costs 4 Euros a night, which would be my biggest complaint. I didn't pay. Most travelers today don't expect to have to.||||-- Location: Good. About a 20 minute (lovely, scenic) walk to the train station, and steps away from restaurants and shopping. It's in a quiet, but safe-seeming part of town.||||-- Pro tips:||> The building has no elevator and steep, narrow stairs.||> There are no keys: you need to email the hotel's proprietors — they'll email you after you book — to get a code that you'll need to enter the front door and the door to your room. The front door can be a little tricky, but with persistence and a bit of elbow grease, I was always able to get in.||||After spending time in traditional hotels, it was fun to log a couple of nights in the more apartment-like setting of the Huize Rafael.

Peter is a great gentleman. Provided excellent housing. Good access to public transport. Great choice for students and researchers. Best place to stay in Leuven. Will come back again for long term stay when registration is allowed.

noted an early check-in at the booking, arrived at 8 am, sat on the street until 12, waited until they said anything at all about the booking. after given room very dirty dirty linen towels after past people. then they said to take a walk until 3 days. when the room came and was not cleaned in front of us, we just changed the bedding on one bed and that's it. all the furniture is sticky dirty it is not possible to touch anything. only one battery works. refrigerator near the bed and that does not work.

We found this B&B lovely. The rooms are home-y and spacious (except for the bathroom which was very very tiny). Nicely heated, good assortment for breakfast, centrally located for anything you want to see. Convenient code entrance to rooms. And the price was very reasonable.||||The owners are extremely accommodating and friendly. We needed additional help or supplies twice and each time they came promptly.||||Highly recommend for travellers who aren't looking for luxury but rather affordable prices nd a good atmoshpere.
