Greatest experience staying at the Flandrien Hotel. The owner/host was so nice and caring and went the extra distance to make sure that you were having the most comfortable, perfect stay. Highly recommend for the amazing riding and proper belgian cycling experience.

My wife and I booked this stay as part of our honeymoon trip over the Christmas and New Years Holiday. We wanted to experience cyclocross in Belgium during this time this seemed like the perfect place for that. Jamie was a great host making us feel right at home welcoming us to breakfast and lunch. He was an awesome communicator leading up to our stay, making me feel comfortable about having the tools and everything else necessary to race in Belgium without having all the burden to bring rollers, think about transportation etc. This is especially appreciated when flying abroad. Not only was this place great from the racing perspective, but also as a tourist. The hotel is decorated with plenty of bikes and modern imagery of great cyclists to inspire you while you are sipping your morning coffee in the clubhouse. It also has an expansive kitchen to cook all of your food while you are there and self service bar. This is nice to have as nutrition is so important while racing and sometimes hard to find while eating out at restuarants. There was also ride nutrition available to purchase which was reassuring since I often forget to pack extra gels etc while traveling. It is great to mingle with other cyclists staying at the hotel and chat with Jamie about his bike collection and the other great work he is involved in, including the scholarship program that they offer to help young cyclists pursue their dreams. Truly, anything is possible at the Flandrien and cannot wait to return!

One of us really wanted to stay here for the ‘cycle culture’ and now that we have, we NEVER will again!

We have stayed at bike hotels in both Riccione and Bormio Italy and loved the organized structure and professionalism they provided for cyclists.

If you are merely a couple, don’t bother since this is all about the groups. We booked a ‘superior room’ and got a tiny cubicle in the middle of many rooms with one tiny window and not even a chair to sit on. We were made to wait until after 17:00 to check in despite their check in at 16:00 and the room seemed quite dirty still. Carpet wasn’t even vacuumed. We noticed other rooms had a nice Flandrien chocolate as a welcome yet ours had nothing of the sort. Here we weren’t even given the bike storage lock combo and had to ask another cyclist to open it for us. As a couple, we were pretty much forgotten or not respected. At breakfast which is not at all structured- the timing floats based on whatever group may be there it seems. On a few mornings we went to sit for coffee and were told to move for a group. That’s fine however we would have liked to know where to sit right away to both help us wake up in a calm fashion and enjoy coffee plus not be in someone’s way. This is how breakfast felt. The breakfast food seemed limited for a cycling hotel since there weren’t even eggs, hard boiled or otherwise and the oatmeal packets were five months expired.

They also need some help or attention in the breakfast area with atleast someone emptying the garbage bin next to the coffee machine after breakfast. It was full a couple of days and hot and stinky.

The one nice perk was the beers we could enjoy from their bar at our leisure and mark it on our tab. But most importantly to have gotten a closet for a room compared to the others we saw and pay for a Superior Room was a waste and for certain we would never recommend this place to friends.

Had the most fabulous time staying here in August. We stayed for two nights in the glamping tents which were super comfortable and spacious. From the moment we arrived, Jamie was the most amazing host, from the welcome to the tour to the stories! Jamie is a wealth of knowledge, is super helpful and accommodating and has the most fabulous stories to tell. It was great to be joined at dinner by the scholarship cyclists living onsite, from a vast range of backgrounds, it was super interesting to find out more about them and their racing.
We certainly felt we left having made new friends and we can't wait for a return visit.

We had a fantastic stay with our host Jamie, and we thank him for his warm welcome and kind attentions. Jamie is a person who knows how to make his guests feel comfortable from the very first moment, making the experience more pleasant and memorable. The rooms were immaculate, and the setting was truly superb. His hotel is the perfect place to undertake the Flanderian Challenge.

I really loved my stay and the cycling around the area was marvellous. It was amazing to be in an area that is as mad about cycling as I am.

It was amazing to stay in such an interesting, quirky hotel and we couldn’t have been made more welcome.

I am already busy recommending the hotel to everyone and anyone I know who loves cycling.

I am really keen to return sometime soon.

Many, many thanks!
