My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Edgar’s Guesthouse. Such a nice, clean and cozy place. We spent two nights here and after our first day spent out in the city we came back to a clean room with a made bed, it was so nice, and really unexpected ! We also had a box of chocolates from Eline and Steven waiting for us! Such a nice touch! Thank you so much !

We hebben 3 nachten mogen verblijven in de suite met city view. En wat hebben we genoten! Een mooie kamer met een ruime badkamer. Modern ingericht en super schoon! Elke dag werd het bed netjes opgemaakt en koffie/thee/water aangevuld. In- en uitchecken is super simpel online te regelen en toegang tot het pand en de kamer is geregeld met een code. Ligging is zeer centraal. Alle verschillende wijken van Gent zijn te voet te bereiken. Ondanks de centrale ligging toch weinig geluidsoverlast. Heerlijk geslapen dus en daar heeft de goede kwaliteit van het bed zeker aan bijgedragen! Wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

Das Haus und Zimmer (in meinem Fall Twin-Room im Erdgeschoss) erreicht man mithilfe eines per Mail versandten Codes sehr einfach. Die Buchung und der Check In kann online bereits erledigt werden. Das Zimmer war zwar recht klein, aber sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was ich für meinen eintägigen Aufenthalt benötige. Die Lage ist traumhaft und mitten in der Stadt gelegen. Wenn man mit dem Auto anreist sollte man sich vorher nach einem Parkplatz umsehen. Das Haus liegt in der videoüberwachten Genter LEZ Umweltzone, weshalb ein Auto hier angemeldet werden muss, da sonst eine Strafe auf einen zukommt (je nach Fahrzeug kostenfrei oder kostenpflichtig). Fußläufig erreicht man von hier aus aber alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Kulinarisch gibt es hier für jeden etwas. Ein liebevoll zusammengestellter Guide der Gastgeber (in einer Mappe im Zimmer) erleichtert einem die Auswahl sehr.

Ich bin rundum zufrieden mit meinem Aufenthalt in dieser tollen Unterkunft in Gent und komme sehr gerne wieder.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Edgar Guesthouse. Eline was super friendly and so kind to let us check in early so we didn’t t have to carry our backpacks around until 3pm. Check in and check out is super easy all from your phone. Room was nice and clean, beds were comfy, and price was great. Location was close to the city center and easy to walk to main attractions. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

I stayed here for 4 nights in early December, Eline was accommodating and let me check in slightly early after a long day of travelling, which was most appreciated. The rooms were clean, basic and comfortable and the guesthouse is in a great location in the heart of the old city, with lots of super restaurants and bars within walking distance. Accessing the guesthouse is convenient, there are no keys necessary, you get sent your code by email to enter in the keypad. However it did mean trying to contact the owner(s) was challenging as you didn't see anyone, emails weren't responded to in a timely fashion if at all (despite being told to email whenever I had queries). As a woman travelling alone in a foreign country, information on recommended local taxi services would be a useful addition to the guest booklet in the rooms. I made it to the airport for my morning flight, but would have preferred to take a taxi to my airport shuttle, rather than standing in the dark in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar city waiting for a public bus. The owner did initially offer to book a taxi on my behalf, but over 24 hours later when I hadn't received a reply to my email, all taxis were booked out for my morning of travel.

The street outside is busy so it is noisy early in the morning and in the evening. The interior walls of the rooms are quite thin and the wooden staircase is noisy when people come in late at night so I would recommend bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper. I understand that this small guesthouse probably hasn't much staff to look after the admin and housekeeping, but as its is only 5 rooms, there is room for improvement. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend to solo travellers or couples.

Wow! Didn't expect such a good experience. I was here for a weekendbreak on my own, just me-time. I really want to come back with my husband and probably with the kids.

The room is amazing, really soothing, beautiful and clean. The shower is fantastic. Normally, I hate hotel beds, because they are never as good as my bed at home (we have a huge boxspring), but I slept so good on this one! Finally a room, with good pillows (and more than one pillow!). Maybe the pillows are a bit hard for some people, but for me they were perfect!

Service was also very good: there was no need to have contact with people, because everything went via the smartphone (online check-in and out). No keys, because you gained a code. Tip: take care of a full-battery smartphone. If you need something: send a message and you will get a quick response.

I ordered breakfast and it was amazing. A cheeseplatter and fresh (warm!) bread with yoghurt and fresh orange juice. My day couldn't start any better. Next time I also want to visit the cheesebar of the owners.

Stairs are steep and small, so if you're disabled or you're traveling with small kids it's probably not the best option, but definitely worth the climbs.

Location is fantastic, in the city centre and everything is on walking distance.

Are there points to improve? Well, I only missed a mirror where I could see myself completely to check my outfit ;-).

Thanks for this amazing experience, I'm fully charged again and I really hope to come back soon.
