Wij hadden een fantastisch verblijf in de Lachende Engel. Prachtige kamer met een eigen woonkamer. Bed is heerlijk zacht en de gastvrijheid ruim. Mooi locatie aan het begin van het centrum. Ontbijt 10/10!!

Wij sliepen in de rode kamer van de B&B. Wat een prachtig huis hebben de eigenaars er van gemaakt. En wat een gezellige vrouw is Rita. Wij hebben er heerlijk overnacht, je komt werkelijk niks te kort. Elke cent waard!

Thank god for trip advisor, and for this phenomenal recommendation.||We absolutely LOVED Rita & Peter. It's not everyday you meet such kind, gracious and hospitable people. They took great care of us, tended to everything we pointed to and even more, to things we didn't even think about. ||The rooms we were given (a bedroom and a living room) were beautiful! Rita designed them herself, as she did the rest of the house, piece by piece, and Peter painted a lot of the walls and furniture so they'd look like marble. It looked gorgeous, very vintage and cozy. But moreover - the rooms were so indulging, it was a pleasure just staying in.. we were almost tempted to spend our entire vacation inside.'ll l ||The rooms were equipped with almost anything you could think of (amenities wise), had a great, comfortable bed, good wi-fi, air conditioning etc.||The living room space had a minibar, and Rita kept surprising us with snacks and beers and water. I haven't seen anything like this.||The breakfast was rich, fresh and versatile. Rita asked us everyday for our preferences, which isn't exactly standard procedure. But not only that - knowing we're supposed to go to a rock festival for the rest of each day, she made sure we took whatever was left to go with us (and believe me - there was PLENTY). There were fresh pastries, eggs to one's liking, different sausages and cheeses everyday, home-made jams, freshly squeezed juice, hot coffee and tea etc. ||The neighborhood was quiet and lovely, and it took us 10 minutes, tops, to walk to the center of Mechelen or to a free parking spot (Rita would probably love to show you the way).||All in all - Probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in. I would love to go back to Mechelen, if only to visit this exquisite place and see Rita and Peter again. |Thank you for an amazing time. We will Never forget it.||Eilona & Vladi||

Rita and Peter are such lovely host. Had the best stay ever in Mechelen in here. Stayed on the 1st floor, nice sizable bed with unique decors and a separate big bathroom room with all the amenities. This bathroom has a walk through terrace that is perfect for that summer time. Breakfast is made by Rita and what a feast. And on arrival Peter was kind to open up at 10am to allow us to checkin and have the room. Needed that after 15 hours of flight time.

Best word to describe how Rita treats you: SPOILED. The mini-frig was filled with Very special treats & beverages (even Cava!) so we asked, "Where's the mini-frig price list?" And Rita said, "Everything in there is for you. Different surprises every day!" Slippers & robes? Yes! Great breakfast? Oh, yes! A variety of extraordinary choices with excellent coffee, Rita personally makes a delicious hot dish each morning - the best ever Fresh fruit plate we've ever experienced & more. We noticed "something" extraordinary was going on with the bed comfort - it was the IRONED SHEETS. Knowledgeable, accommodating, always pleasant and cheerful Rita helped with restaurants, museums, goings on, directions - you name it. We were on the "red floor" (oh, you don't get a room, you get a Floor) and if you relish antiques as we do, you will be surrounded by Rita's lovely fascinating antiques. The red bedroom is sumptuous -- and the bathroom is Spectacular - beautiful marble floor with luxurious claw foot tub & walk-in shower & dreamy hand-painted heavenly scenes -- but there's more: the tall stained glass window in this bathroom has a step -- for what? To go out to the sun inviting plant-shrouded Roof Terrace. It was enchanting - and we had "cocktail parties" there each evening and invited the couple from the Green Floor! This B&B and this lady made for an Exceptional experience that will always stand out as one of our most memorable travel stay experiences. And the location was excellent. Thanks to Rita so again for a Wonderful stay filled with delights and always, your Very nice Surprises!

Huiselijke en gezellige B&B. Hartelijk en warm ontvangst van de gastvrouw. Wij kregen heel veel info over de bezienswaardigheden in de stad en leuke adresjes om te eten. Alles heel netjes tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Wij verbleven op de rode verdieping. Aparte badkamer met bad(op poten), douche, toilet en 2 lavabo's . Grote slaapkamer met airco, gevuld koelkastje. Privé terras waar het savonds héérlijk vertoeven is. Elke dag stond er voor ons een hapje en een drankje klaar. Heel uitgebreid en verzorgd ontbijt. Je mag zelfs een lunchpakket maken. Dit alles is in de prijs inbegrepen.
