Lovely house where we spent a week's holiday in mid April 2021. The house is nicely furnished, comfortable and well equipped. The garden is beautiful, large and it gets lots of sun. However, there are 2 reasons below why I cannot rate it more that 3-3.5 stars unfortunately.

Before booking, we checked that we would be able to use the pool and were told yes. The week before going we reminded Du to make sure the pool would be heated when we arrived. Unfortunately that was not the case and the heating was only turned on the day after we arrived in the afternoon and it took the pool 4-5 days to get to 20-21 degrees - as the pool is not covered every night it lost a degree or 2. We were able to use the pool on the very last day of our stay. Du kept coming to check and showed interest in our being able to use the pool, and went as far as offering us to stay 3 days extra, which we were unfortunately unable to do.

Another reason is the noise - the house is located on a cobbled street and while the traffic decreases at the weekend, during the week, cars drove by from very early in the morning, causing us to wake up at 5. The bedroom on the ground floor is right on the street, while the one on the first floor/in the loft also gets noisy due to a couple of windows which do not close well.

We really enjoyed the location - very close to Antwerp and we drove into the city a couple of times. Ranst also has a very nice park as well as rural paths nearby to go for walks in nature.
